NCP chief Sharad Pawar, reflecting on the effective disaster management

during the 1993 Killari earthquake in Maharashtra, emphasized that India has established an administrative system that can confidently face any natural disaster. He made these remarks during a gratitude ceremony organized by earthquake survivors in Killari village, Latur district, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the devastating earthquake. The 6.2-6.3 magnitude earthquake struck several villages in Latur and Osmanabad districts on September 30, 1993, resulting in approximately 10,000 fatalities and 30,000 injuries.
