New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petition of Congress leader Pawan Khera. In this petition, he had challenged the Allahabad High Court’s decision to reject his plea to quash criminal proceedings against him in a case related to allegedly objectionable comments against PM Modi. Khera had faced criticism for referring to the Prime Minister as ‘Narendra Gautam Das Modi’ during a press conference in Mumbai in February 2023. BJP leaders and supporters strongly condemned this remark, viewing it in the context of industrialist Gautam Adani. PM Modi’s full name is Narendra Damodar Das Modi, and Damodar Das is his father’s name. In many states, people use their father’s name as a middle name.
