(NTA) conducted a re-examination for 1,563 students : toppers tally down to 61

July 1 | None of the candidates who retook NEET-UG managed to score full marks

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted a re-examination for 1563 students who were previously awarded grace marks due to time lost during the NEET-UG exam on May 5.

Among the 813 candidates who retook the exam on June 23, none achieved full marks, reducing the number of toppers from 67 to 61, according to officials on Monday. The NTA released the retest results late Sunday night, explaining that 1,563 students were offered a re-exam as compensation for the lost time during their initial examination.

Of these, 813 students attended the retest at seven centers across Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, and Meghalaya. Students who did not participate in the retest will retain their original scores without the grace marks.

Among the 813 re-testers, six students from a Haryana center had initially scored a perfect 720 out of 720, but none achieved full marks in the retest, leading to the official decrease in the number of toppers to 61.

The NTA has announced that revised scorecards for all NEET-UG 2024 candidates, including those who appeared in the re-exam, are now available on the official website (https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/). Candidates can log in to view, download, or print their revised scorecards.
