State media said on Friday that Kim watched the parade on Thursday evening from the balcony of the building in the city’s main square along with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and China’s ruling party official Li Hongzhong.
According to the media, thousands of people gathered in the streets, shouting slogans at the sight of soldiers, tanks and vehicles carrying giant interplanetary ballistic missiles on the main road. North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the parade also featured newly developed surveillance planes and combat drones. Kim and Shoigu also recently attended an arms exhibition, in which these aircraft and drones were displayed.
