Due to a rock falling in front of the drilling machine in the Uttarkashi Tunnel, efforts are being made to rescue people by cutting the mountain and the tunnel from above.
A 60 meter portion of an under-construction tunnel caved in at 4 am on Diwali day (12 November) in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. 41 laborers got trapped in this. The number of people trapped inside for six days was said to be 40, but on Saturday morning the number increased by one labourer. It is possible that more workers may be trapped inside.
