On Monday, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam kicked off the Vijay Sankalp Yatra with a bicycle rally in Majuli, located in the Jorhat constituency. Sarma has planned to tour over 30 assembly constituencies in the eastern and northern regions of the state in the next 15 days, where the initial phase of elections is set to begin on April 19th.
