Oommen Chandy’s Daughter Lodges Complaint About Cyberattacks Ahead of Puthuppally Bypoll

Achu Oommen, the younger daughter of the late former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, took a step on Monday to report a series of alleged cyberattacks directed towards her. She formally filed a complaint with the cyber police, specifically addressing a resident of Thiruvananthapuram. The complaint cites that this individual had propagated defamatory statements about her via his Facebook account.

In her complaint, she stated, “The accused knowingly disseminated false information to the public, driven by a malicious intent to tarnish the reputation of the complainant. This act further aimed to propagate baseless and scandalous allegations suggesting corruption involving both the complainant and her deceased father.”

Expressing her concerns on August 26, Achu Oommen voiced her condemnation regarding the purported cyber assaults directed at her. These events occurred in the lead-up to the Puthuppally bypoll. She expressed that the purpose behind these attacks was to divert attention away from the ongoing concerns of “corruption and inflation” within the state. Achu Oommen highlighted her professional role as a content creator within the realms of fashion and travel, spanning several years. Additionally, she revealed that her work-related photographs had been exploited on various cyber platforms by individuals with vested interests, driven by a deliberate motive to tarnish her father’s reputation.
