The victim, identified as Raghunath and a resident of the Gajraula police station area, had gone fishing in a pond near Raipur Mustalik village on Wednesday evening.
According to Achal Kumar Singh, the station incharge of Madhotanda Police, the body of the victim was discovered in a sugarcane field within the village. Some villagers reported witnessing a tiger near the body. With the assistance of the forest department team, the body was recovered.
