Around 10,000 athletes will participate in this sports fair which will run from October 26 to November 9. Goa-born Indian professional wind surfer Katya Ida Coelho will hand over the torch to the Prime Minister.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that ‘famous artistes including Sukhwinder Singh and Hema Sardesai will perform in the 5-hour grand inauguration ceremony at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda.’ Athletes from 28 teams will take part in the parade. The ceremony will be based on the theme of national unity.
