Although conjecture surrounds Somashekar’s discussion of the ongoing political landscape in the state – he was one of the 14 legislators who defected from Congress in 2019 – official statements maintain that his meeting with the Chief Minister was centered on developmental initiatives in Yeshwantpur, the constituency he represents in the Assembly.
