Putin to rain fire on Ukraine? Kyiv gets first batches of West’s Leopard and Challenger tanks

The West’s much-talked-about tank challenge for Russia has reached Ukraine. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that Berlin has delivered the first batch of ‘deadly’ Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine. The consignment from Germany contains 18 modern Leopard 2A6 tanks, along with two armoured recovery vehicles, ammunition, and spare parts. However, the tank challenge for Russian President Vladimir Putin does not end there. The British Challenger 2 tanks have also reached Ukraine, said the Ukrainian Defence Minister. Spain has also said its first batch of six Leopard 2A4S would be sent by the end of this week. The influx of western tanks is set to amp up the intensity of the war in Ukraine.
