She is the niece of Yusuf Hamied, the non-executive Chairman of Cipla, and her leadership has contributed to enhancing the company’s reputation and success.Samina Hamied, also known as Samina Vaziralli, comes from a family deeply entrenched in the pharmaceutical sector, with a legacy spanning decades. She is the daughter of YK Hamied’s brother, Mustafa Khwaja (MK) Hamied. Despite lacking prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry, her tenure at the company has been marked by remarkable growth. Samina represents the third generation of Cipla’s founding family and currently serves as the company’s executive vice-chairperson. She holds an MSc in international accounting and finance, earned as a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
