News Street Live, Lucknow: To strengthen the education system in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government is rapidly working on expanding Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. Construction of 20 new Sarvodaya schools is underway in various districts of the state. After their completion, the total number of Sarvodaya schools in the state will increase to 123. Currently, 103 Sarvodaya schools are operational, where thousands of students are receiving quality education.
Before 2017, only 93 schools were functioning in the state, but the Yogi government has prioritized the education sector and consistently focused on establishing new schools and expanding facilities.
Officials from the Social Welfare Department stated that these schools provide a better academic environment, discipline, modern facilities, and free education. The 20 new schools under construction are being equipped with modern amenities such as smart classrooms, computer labs, science laboratories, libraries, playgrounds, hostels, clean drinking water, and secure campuses.
According to officials, new schools are being constructed in districts including Mathura (Bati, Vrindavan), Gonda (Banatangi/Siswa Mankapur), Ballia (Husainabad), Kanpur Dehat (Sarvankhera Akbarpur), Amroha (Hasanpur), Pilibhit (Madhotanda), Maharajganj (Sadar), Ambedkar Nagar (Pratappur Chamurkha), Hathras (Chirayal Sikandrarao), Auraiya (Hardu Bidhuna), Kasganj (Yakutganj Sahawar), Aligarh (Alahdadpur Kol), Hapur (Jasrupnagar), Sonbhadra (Umbha), Kanpur Dehat (Paraukh), Mau (Harthauli, Ghosi tehsil). Two of these schools have already started functioning last year.
Officials added that before 2017, 93 Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya schools were operational in Uttar Pradesh, but with the opening of 20 new schools, more students will get admission opportunities. This will benefit families who cannot afford private schooling due to financial constraints.
Along with free education, students are also provided with books, uniforms, and other facilities. Under the Yogi government, this scheme is bringing significant changes in the education sector, and the increase in the number of schools is strengthening the government education system in the state.
