China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the actions of the United States have harmed China’s sovereignty and security interests. The sale of arms to Taiwan has weakened peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and violated the rights and interests of Chinese companies and individuals. The U.S. Department of State had approved a $300 million arms package to strengthen Taiwan’s defense and control systems.
