In Assam, two prominent leaders of the Congress Party have resigned from their positions, and today, both of them may join the BJP. In the 2021 legislative assembly elections, BJP’s Jitu Goswami defeated Suresh Bora on the Brahamaputra seat by a mere margin of 751 votes. On the other hand, Poritush Roy, the Executive President of the Assam Pradesh Youth Congress, has also submitted his resignation from the party.
