Action After Probe Following Viral Video
Lucknow: Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) Arun Kumar on Saturday suspended incharge of a primary government school on Napier Road, Thakurganj, with immediate effect after a probe found that some students offered namaz on the school campus.
The probe was ordered after a video of the incident went viral on social media. The block education officer who probed the matter, said in his report that of 106 students enrolled in the school, majority are from the minority community and a few among them offered namaz in the school premises on Friday.
“School teachers and staff confirmed that a few children offered namaz in the school premises on Friday. It is contrary to the departmental guidelines that only educational activities can be done in a school. People from other communities raised objections against it,” said Kumar.
Based on the findings of the investigation report, the school incharge Meera Yadav has been suspended for negligence under government service rules. A teacher, Tahzeeb Fatima and a ‘shikshak mitra’ Mamta Mishra have been issued strict warning, he added.
