Lucknow: A 15-year-old boy named as accused in the FIR lodged in connection with the rape of a three-year-old girl in Kushinagar district was arrested on Friday.
Police held the accused finding the allegations made in the FIR prima facie true. A case was lodged under the provisions of the Pocso Act and the girl was admitted to the local community health centre (CHC).
SHO Bishnupura, Girijesh Upadhyay said that the girl was playing at her residence at around 6pm on Thursday. Her parents had gone to the market, while her grandmother was at a neighbour’s house.
“In the meanwhile, a 15-year-old boy from the neighbourhood started playing with her. He took the girl to a deserted place where he raped her,” said SHO Upadhyay. She later reached home and fell unconscious due to the bleeding, police said.
When the survivor’s grandmother returned and found the survivor unconscious, she informed her son and called UP 112, said the police.
A police team reached the spot and took the girl to the local CHC in Dudhi. When the girl regained consciousness, she narrated her ordeal to her parents and grandmother, said the police.
On the complaint of the survivor’s grandmother, the police registered a case and nabbed him on Friday.
