The BJP has launched an assertive campaign to maintain its grip on power in Madhya Pradesh, countering a vigorous challenge from the Congress party. This effort has involved a significant shuffle of leadership within the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, with the deployment of prominent figures, including some who have never participated in assembly elections in the state.

While it was expected that the BJP might field a few of its Members of Parliament (MPs) in the upcoming assembly polls across various states, the extent of this deployment has surprised many, including members of the party itself. The second list of nominees for 39 seats includes three Union ministers and four other MPs as candidates.

Notably, two of these ministers, Narendra Singh Tomar and Faggan Singh Kulaste, are contesting from constituencies that were won by the Congress in the 2018 elections. Additionally, three of the four Lok Sabha MPs are vying for seats where the main opposition party had emerged victorious in the previous assembly polls.
