The case regarding the attack on Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials, seeking the transfer of the investigation from the state police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), was heard. The Calcutta High Court has retained the order, ensuring its safety.

The Calcutta High Court on Monday retained the order seeking the transfer of the investigation into the attack on officials of the Enforcement Directorate to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) from the West Bengal Police. After Sheikh’s arrest, the state government had transferred the investigation of the case from the Basirhat Police to the CID. Solicitor Raju claimed that such a move was made to deny Sheikh’s custody to the CBI.
