Amidst reports of the issuance of the amended Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rules before the Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shantanu Thakur, has claimed that the CAA will be implemented before the elections. Earlier, last month, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also reiterated during his visit to Kolkata that the implementation of CAA will proceed as it is the law of the land.
