The Supreme Court has stayed the order of the Allahabad High Court issued on March 22. The High Court had deemed the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madrasa Education Act 2004 unconstitutional in its order. The Supreme Court stated that the High Court’s assertion that the Madrasa Board violates the principle of secularism enshrined in the Constitution is not correct. Along with this, the Supreme Court has also halted the process of transferring 17 lakh students and 10 thousand teachers of the Madrasa Board to other schools.
