Lucknow: Cops on Sunday claimed to have busted an inter-district chain snatchers gang and arrested two of its key members identified as Ali Hussain alias Monu and Mohd Faiji, residents of Akbarpur Pura Manohardas Ki Bagia from Kareli area. The cops also seized three smart phones, one purse, a gold chain, one pair gold ear rings, one gold nose ring and Rs 1350 in cash from their possession.
Cops said that the duo bike borne chain snatchers had on Saturday evening snatched the chain and other valuables from a woman near Atala area under the limits of Khuldabad police station when she was going somewhere by an e-rickshaw. Following the incident, an FIR under section 392 of IPC was registered.
Cops said that the CCTV footage has helped them to ascertain the identities of snatchers involved in the incident. The looted gold jewellery and cash was recovered from their houses located in kareli. Cops said they have been looking for other members of the gang. Police said many cases were registered against arrested snatchers in different police stations of the city including Colonelganj, Kareli, Civil Lines and Shahganj.
