Two cops suspended after video of drinking at outpost goes viral
Lucknow: Two policemen were placed under suspension after a video showing them drinking alcohol and misconduct inside an outpost went viral on social media on Tuesday.
Assistant commissioner of police, Cantt said the video was from Topkhana police outpost and the two cops identified as head constable Triloki Baliyan and constable Ashish Kumar have been suspended and a departmental inquiry ordered.
The undated three-minute-long Facebook live video has received widespread criticism on X.
The video shows Baliyan threatening and abusing the man shooting the video and saying that he was drinking from his own money, and it was nobody’s concern.
The cop was also seen hitting the man shooting the video. The policeman was not even dressed in proper uniform.
The man shooting the video explains the scenario but is not seen in the video.
Though he said an FB live video was being shot, the cops seemed least bothered.
Later in the video, the cops even tried to hide the alcohol bottle under the blanket.
The video went viral with a caption on X which said, “Thodee si jo pee lee hai…koi chori to nahi ki hai! bas shahab on dutee apanee vardee na sambhal pa rahe hain…aise mein janta ki hifazat kaise karenge?
