UP: After reaching an agreement on seat-sharing with the Congress, the Samajwadi Party has decided to withdraw its candidate from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. Just 24 hours ago, the SP had announced former minister Surendra Patel as its candidate. Now, the seat has been allocated to the Congress, leading to disappointment within the SP camp. Surendra Patel’s electoral preparations have also been halted.
