The Legislative Council is now devoid of BSP after Congress. BSP is the second national party whose representation in the Upper House has ended. Its only MLC, Bhimrao Ambedkar, concluded his term on May 5th. He is contesting elections on a BSP ticket from the Hardoi Lok Sabha seat. In the BSP’s Assembly, there is only one lawmaker, Uma Shankar Singh of Rasra.
