In the state, 16,460 madrassas of Tahtania class 1 to 5, Faukania class 5 to 8 and Aliya and higher Aliya level i.e. high school or above are recognized by the board.

District Minority Welfare Officers have sent this list to Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Council. Most of the madrassas recorded in it are not functioning. At the same time, many madrassas have not uploaded their documents on UDAYS due to having less number of students than the standard. Many madrassas themselves have requested the board to remove their recognition.
