The US Congressional Committee on the Strategic Competition between the US and the Chinese Communist Party has recommended including India in the Nato Plus five-member grouping to counter China’s aggression in the Indo-Pacific region. The panel also called for strengthening Taiwan’s deterrence and coordinating with allies in the event of a People’s Republic of China attack on Taiwan. The recommendations come ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the US next month.
