Janet Yellen, the US Treasury Secretary, is scheduled to journey to New Delhi for her participation in the G20 Leaders’ Summit, taking place from September 7 to September 10. During her visit, Yellen will persist in mobilizing America’s partners to uphold their unified economic assistance for Ukraine, while also engaging with her Indian counterparts to discuss bilateral matters, according to an official statement released on Thursday.
This marks her fourth trip to India within this year.
In the course of her visit to India, the Department of Treasury has indicated that Yellen’s main focus will revolve around bolstering the global economy and offering support to nations with modest and middle-level incomes. She will achieve this by advancing the evolution of multilateral development banks (MDBs), addressing debt restructuring, and promoting the IMF’s initiatives such as the Poverty Reduction and Growth Trust.
