Uzbek woman held with invalid visa, fake papers

Lucknow: A joint team of the Sashastra Seema Bal and the Maharajganj police arrested an Uzbek woman on Tuesday for entering the country from Nepal without a valid visa and carrying forged documents. The woman, who was identified as Dilbar Rakhimova (31), was sent to jail on Wednesday.

Circle officer, Nautanwa, Abha Singh said that the Uzbek woman, who was coming via Nepal, had shown a fake Aadhaar card issued in the name of one Nilufer Khan, to security staff. However, the security staff at the international check-post at Sonauli border got suspicious by her spoken Hindi. Later, a detailed verification of her Aadhaar card revealed that it was forged.

“We lodged an FIR under IPC 467 (forgery of valuable document) and Foreigners Act on the complaint of officer of Bureau of Immigration Randa Mazumder and arrested her,” Abha said and added that the Uzbek woman was caught by sub-inspector, SSB, Anjali Tanwar.

Police sources said that the woman had reached Delhi on August 6 and stayed at the house of her friend Kartik in Gurugram. On August 8, she and Kartik visited Jaipur and other places. On August 10 Kartik returned to Delhi, while Rakhimova hired a taxi and reached Gorakhpur and from there she moved to Nepal, the sources said. She stayed in Nepal on the identity of her female friend Nikki, the police sources added.

“On August 14 around 7.30 pm, she was intercepted at Sonauli border. She produced an Aadhaar card which mentioned her name as Nilufer Khan and the address was of Delhi,” said SHO, Sunauli, Abhishek Kumar. However, when she was questioned she could not speak Hindi properly and her lies got exposed. The woman is in judicial custody and her embassy in Delhi has been informed.
