Varanasi: Kashi Vishwanath Dham got the first place among religious places across the country,

Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham has secured the first position among the major 51 religious places marked in India in the child begging and child labor free campaign. This information was given by Priyanka Kanungo, chairman of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. In the 6th Vatsal Bharat Seminar organized by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development at BHU’s Swatantrata Bhawan on Saturday, he said that there is a need to campaign against child trafficking in rural areas and provide protection to children.

At the same time, he honored CDO Himanshu Nagpal for getting the first position. He informed that since 2014, the crimes related to this have reduced due to the changes made in the Child and Juvenile Act. Due to the continuous campaign, people are also becoming aware. Earlier this workshop has been organized in Delhi, Bhopal, Mumbai, Ranchi and Guwahati.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry Sanjeev Kumar Chadha said that the purpose of the workshop is to celebrate and appreciate the work being done by all the functionaries who are working at the district and panchayat level. CDO Himanshu Nagpal told about the progress so far and further action plan under the campaign being run in Varanasi.

Eight people, including Padma Shri Dr. Sunita Krishnan, who have been continuously working against child trafficking on behalf of the ministry, were honored for doing good work in the field of child protection. About 1500 people from 12 states participated in the seminar. Members of Child Welfare Committees, Juvenile Justice Board, Village Child Protection Committee and Anganwadi representatives participated in it. Cultural programs were also presented during this. During this, Rupali Banerjee Singh, Secretary, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights was present.
