Vote counting for the Ghosi assembly by-election,

considered a significant electoral showdown between the NDA and the opposition bloc in India, commenced at 8 am on Friday, according to officials. In the assembly constituency located in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district, over 50 percent of eligible voters participated in the polling conducted on Tuesday.

In the previous year’s assembly elections, Ghosi had witnessed a voter turnout of 58.59 percent.
