
Thursday witnessed heavy rainfall impacting multiple regions across the country, resulting in the issuance of ‘red’ and ‘orange’ alerts by the weather department in certain states. In Goa, the situation turned tragic as a woman was swept away in floodwaters. In the national capital, Delhi, intense morning showers caused waterlogging and subsequent traffic congestion in several areas. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi reported waterlogging in nine locations, including Jai Vihar in Baprola, Azad Market, Sadh Nagar in Palam, Shahpur Jat, Nimri Colony in Ashok Vihar, New Rajinder Nagar, and Kanti Nagar East in Seelampur between 9 am and 1 pm. Additionally, congestion was observed at Pragati Maidan, Modi Mills flyover, both carriageways of MB Road, and Rani Jhansi Road, while traffic movement on the DND Flyway and Ashram flyover was disrupted.
