West Bengal: Heavy rain lashed Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas districts on Monday evening, causing a sudden drop in temperature by several degrees and bringing a cool breeze. In West Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, Purulia, Nadia, Birbhum, and West Bardhaman districts, rain accompanied by strong winds and storms was also reported. There are reports of collapsed mud houses, uprooted trees, and snapped power lines in some areas due to the rain.
