In a setback to the Mamata Banerjee-led government in West Bengal, the Kolkata High Court has rejected the plea of the state government and granted permission for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) mega rally near Victoria House in Kolkata on November 29. A division bench of the High Court dismissed the West Bengal government’s petition seeking a ban on the BJP’s rally. The government had sought to block the event, citing concerns and requesting the court to intervene.
