Lucknow: A woman was booked on Sunday for allegedly sharing a video related to child pornography on Instagram. A police investigation revealed that the content was shared by her teenage son.
Police said the probe into the case started after receiving a report from the portal of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
“The report was first sent to the chief minister’s office in Lucknow, from where it was revealed that
the video was uploaded from Ghaziabad. The report was then sent to the Ghaziabad police commissionerate. After that only, Anil Kumar, the in charge of the cyber cell, filed a complaint, and an FIR was registered against the woman under sections of the IT Act at the Kotwali police station,” said ACP Saloni Aggarwal.
When police questioned the woman, she said the video was uploaded by her son using her Instagram ID. “The woman said her son is studying in Class 12 in a private school in Ghaziabad. Further investigation revealed that the boy had shared the content after someone else had shared it with him. Police are now checking the content thread,” added the ACP.
