Amidst chants in praise of Mother Yamuna, the gates of the Yamunotri shrine closed on Wednesday for the winter season. During this event, the echoes of chants in honor of Mother Ganga resonated through the shrine. Earlier on Tuesday, the gates of the Gangotri shrine were closed during the Annakoot festival.
