The Yogi government is continuously working to provide timely relief to people and families affected by various natural disasters in Uttar Pradesh. Assistance is being provided to people affected by various disasters in the state, such as excessive rainfall, lightning, snakebites, floods, human-wildlife conflict, hailstorms, drowning incidents, fires and storms.
According to data released by the Relief Commissioner’s Office, a total of ₹249.76 crore has been released under different heads to various districts of Uttar Pradesh for disaster prevention and relief from April 01, 2026 to September 18, 2026.
A total of ₹206.19 crore has so far been released for relief in various disasters declared by the state government. Meanwhile, ₹111.67 crore has been released for relief against damage caused by hailstorms, ₹114.04 crore for flood relief and rescue operations, and ₹36.85 crore for providing relief to people affected by fires. The government is providing relief funds according to the nature of different disasters and the extent of damage.
Relief assistance has also been provided to affected families and relatives in cases of loss of life caused by lightning, snakebites, drowning, storms, human-wildlife conflict, fires and excessive rainfall. In such cases, relief assistance amounting to ₹156.92 crore has been distributed so far.
Farmers have also been given priority in the relief arrangements of the Yogi government. Against crop damage suffered by 1,16,000 farmers due to hailstorms, floods, excessive rainfall and fires, relief assistance amounting to ₹72.31 crore has been distributed so far. This assistance has provided financial relief to farmers whose crops were damaged due to natural disasters.
Similarly, against 23,595 houses damaged due to floods, excessive rainfall, fires, storms and lightning, relief assistance amounting to ₹15.09 crore has already been provided to affected people. The government has also provided financial assistance to affected families in cases of livestock loss. Against a total of 1,519 livestock losses caused by fires, lightning, storms, snakebites and excessive rainfall, relief assistance amounting to ₹5.25 crore has been distributed.
Relief assistance has also been provided to people injured during disasters. Relief assistance amounting to ₹19.90 lakh has been distributed to a total of 183 people injured due to storms, hailstorms, fires, lightning and human-wildlife conflict. Thus, from April 01 to September 18, 2026, a total of ₹249.76 crore in relief assistance has been distributed to people and families affected by various disasters in the state.
This includes families affected by loss of life, farmers who suffered crop damage, cases of house damage, people affected by livestock losses and people injured in disasters.
The efforts being undertaken by the Yogi government to provide immediate relief to disaster-affected people are aimed at providing financial support to affected families during times of crisis. Through the release of funds under different heads for various types of disasters and arrangements to ensure that relief reaches affected people, the government has emphasised helping people recover after disasters and reducing their losses.
