Over 100 professors from across India have applied for the vacant post of vice-chancellor at Savitribai Phule Pune University, with 10 senior professors among them. The university is ranked first in Maharashtra in terms of academic quality. After applications are verified, a list of eligible candidates will be announced, with five to be interviewed and one chosen as the new VC. The process is expected to take at least a month.
