Saifai Syndicate played with the future of youth under SP govt, now answer for it: Chief Minister Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party at a graduates’ voters’ conference. He said, “Under the SP government, the ‘Chacha-Bhateje’ duo would set out to collect money as soon as a job advertisement was issued. By placing members of the Saifai syndicate in recruitment commissions, the SP government played with the future of young people. At one time, the mafia’s shadow had also tarnished Prayagraj’s identity.”

Referring to mafia figures Atiq and Ashraf, he said, “Before 2017, any piece of land that a mafia set foot on would become his property. The situation has changed today.”

Referring to the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ Constituency election, the Chief Minister appealed to voters to hold those who had played with the future of young people accountable. He urged them to ensure the victory of Ashok Rathour, the BJP and NDA candidate. CM Yogi said, “For the SP, the family was the state, whereas for me, the state itself is my family. Serving the interests of the state’s 25 crore people is the objective of the double-engine government.”

The Chief Minister said, “Prayagraj is not only a sacred land of faith but also a major centre of education and justice. Maharishi Bharadwaj established a gurukul here, while Allahabad University once illuminated the path for North India. Even today, lakhs of young people come to Prayagraj to prepare for competitive examinations. However, there was a time when the mafia had tarnished the city’s image. The mafia posed a threat not only to traders and daughters but also became a challenge for the administration and the justice system. This also affected the talented youth of Prayagraj.”

CM Yogi added, “Despite coming to power four times, the SP government failed to ensure transparent recruitment. Members of the Saifai syndicate were appointed to senior positions in recruitment commissions. Those who had created an identity crisis for Prayagraj and the state had no right to come here and appeal to young people.”

The Chief Minister said, “During its two terms, the double-engine government had provided more than four times as many government jobs as the SP government. So far, appointment letters for government jobs have been issued to 9.50 lakh young people.” He said that under the double-engine government, young people had not been required to pay money to secure recruitment, and appointments were being made on the basis of merit.

The Chief Minister said, “The results of the Uttar Pradesh Police constable recruitment examination had recently been declared, paving the way for more than 32,000 young people to get jobs. Recruitment of 4,000 sub-inspectors has been completed, and appointment letters will be distributed soon. Recruitment of 42,000 Home Guard personnel has also been completed. In addition, the process of providing jobs to 30,000 to 35,000 young people through upcoming competitive examinations conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission is underway.”

The Chief Minister added, “Before 2017, no one was safe in the state.”

Referring to mafia figures Atiq and Ashraf, he said, “Earlier, any land a mafia set foot on would come under his control. Now, when the government talks about building homes for the poor on such land, those involved in illegal encroachment become apprehensive.” He said that the mafia of Prayagraj had been wiped out, and the city’s talented youth were now getting opportunities to move ahead.

CM Yogi said, “Uttar Pradesh had witnessed rapid development. Statues of Major Dhyan Chand are being installed at road intersections to honour hockey, the national sport.” He said that although the Kumbh had been held in the past, the grand Mahakumbh of 2025 was organised under the double-engine government. For the first time, more than 66 crore devotees reached the Sangam.

Referring to the installation of a statue of freedom fighter Masuriya Din Pasi, the Chief Minister said that he had spent nine years in prison for the cause of independence. He and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru had contested the first Lok Sabha election at the same time. Institutions were established in Nehru’s name over the years, but no statue of Masuriya Din Pasi had been installed. The BJP government is now ensuring that he receives the honour he deserves.

He said, “Education earns greater respect when it becomes a means of serving the nation and public welfare. The government is working to ensure that young people get opportunities to progress through education and employment.”

CM Yogi added, “Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh had around 120 startups, whereas their number has now crossed 24,000. The expansion of startups is creating employment opportunities for young people. The government has established a Fund of Funds to help young entrepreneurs start and expand their businesses. Young people preparing for competitive examinations are also being supported through the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Coaching Yojana. The government aims to ensure that financial constraints do not become an obstacle to their preparation and that they get opportunities to succeed in competitive examinations.

The Chief Minister said that Shiksha Mitras had been provided cashless medical treatment facilities of up to ₹5 lakh. Teachers in basic, secondary and higher education have been provided social security guarantees ranging from ₹40 lakh to ₹1.50 crore, along with cashless healthcare facilities of up to ₹5 lakh. He also referred to the increase in the honorarium of Shiksha Mitras and instructors.

CM Yogi said that the government aims to provide security and facilities to different sections of society. Along with strengthening the education system, it is equally important to safeguard the interests of teachers and employees.

The Chief Minister made a special appeal to educated and aware voters regarding the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ Constituency election. He said, “Those who had played with the future of young people must be held accountable.” Yogi urged voters to ensure the victory of Ashok Rathour, the BJP and NDA candidate.

He said, “For the SP, the family was the state, whereas for the BJP government, the entire state was its family. Serving the interests of 25 crore people is the objective of the double-engine government.”

The Chief Minister appealed to young people, graduates and aware citizens to make their decisions keeping the state’s development and the future of its youth in mind.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, ministers Swatantra Dev Singh, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi and Krishna Paswan, MP Praveen Patel, newly elected Rajya Sabha MP Radhakant Ojha, Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, District Panchayat Chairperson Dr VK Singh, Legislative Council Member Manvendra Singh, coordinator for the Allahabad-Jhansi Graduates’ Constituency, BJP candidate Ashok Rathour, and several MLAs and other office-bearers were present at the programme.
