Schools in the state of Odisha will reopen on Monday after being closed for five days due to the increasing heatwave. The government has changed the timings for morning classes for students in classes I to XII to begin half an hour earlier and conclude at 11 am due to the intense weather conditions. District collectors can adjust timings to suit local summer conditions. The government has requested schools to make proper provisions of water and other facilities for students’ well-being. The state has been experiencing temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in many places, causing severe discomfort in the daily lives of locals.
