- Transparent system, cheating-free exams and timely results boost students’ confidence in the Madrasa Education Council
News Street Live, Lucknow: The impact of reforms introduced by Yogi government to make the madrasa education system in Uttar Pradesh transparent, modern, and well-organized is clearly visible. As a result, there has been a notable increase in the number of students appearing for the UP Madrasa Education Council examinations in 2026.
Compared to last year, 12,510 more candidates took the exam this time, indicating growing trust in the madrasa education system. While 68,423 students appeared in 2025, the number rose to 80,933 this year – an increase of about 18.29%.
The government’s efforts to ensure transparency in the examination system, a cheating-free environment, and timely declaration of results have strengthened the confidence of both students and parents. Notably, the Munshi/Maulvi (Secondary) and Alim (Senior Secondary) Arabic-Persian examinations conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Council were held peacefully across the state on February 9.
The exams were conducted in two shifts at 277 centers across 71 districts. The Munshi/Maulvi exam was held in the first shift, while the Alim Arabic exam took place in the second shift.
A total of 62,232 candidates were registered for the Munshi/Maulvi exam, including 32,389 boys and 29,843 girls. For the Alim exam, 18,701 students were registered, including 9,092 boys and 9,609 girls. These figures also indicate the steadily increasing participation of female students in madrasa education.
To ensure fair and cheating-free examinations, Yogi government made special arrangements this year. Flying squads, internal inspection teams, sector magistrates, and static magistrates were deployed at the district level. Additionally, a centralized monitoring system was implemented at the council level, under which exam centers were continuously monitored through CCTV cameras. As a result of these strict measures, the examinations were conducted in a completely peaceful and well-organized manner.
Officials of the Madrasa Education Council stated that preparations for announcing the results in May are in the final stage. Timely results will help students in further studies, admission processes, and other academic plans. The government’s efforts to integrate madrasa education with the mainstream, provide modern facilities, and implement transparent systems have created a positive environment. The record participation of students this year reflects growing trust in government policies.
