World Bank President Ajay Banga will visit India this week. Here he will participate in the meeting of G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governor in Ahmedabad. This will be Banga’s first visit to India after taking over as the President of the World Bank. Indian-American Banga (63) took over as the President of the World Bank in June.
With this, he became the first person of Indian origin to hold the presidency of either of the two global financial institutions – the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). India currently has the presidency of the G20. Gujarat is hosting four G20 meetings in the first two weeks of July.
