
Lucknow: The anti-corruption team caught junior engineer of Kesco red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 on Friday.
The junior engineer AK Mishra had asked for money in the name of clearing the electricity dues in a house in Saket Nagar. The victim Sudhir had been making rounds of the Kesco substation for the past three years. When the junior engineer asked for Rs 20,000 as bribe, the victim complained to the anti-corruption department. Subsequently, a trap was laid on Friday, the sleuths of anti-corruption caught the junior engineer red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
Naubasta police station in-charge Jagdish Pandey said that the officers of the team are interrogating the junior engineer. “A case will be registered on the basis of a complaint,” he added.
