The rain created havoc in Phata, the stop of Kedarnath Yatra. An eight-room hotel and a restaurant were completely destroyed by the collapse of the hill. The name of the hotel and restaurant was erased in the debris. The road was blocked due to falling boulders and debris. A decision had to be taken to close more than five routes of Kedarnath Highway. Thousands of Kedarnath pilgrims got stuck at various places due to the closure of the roads.
