Lucknow: As part of its crackdown on illegal empire of Atiq Ahmed, the Prayagraj police are all set to attach properties worth Rs 12.43 crore belonging to slain ganglord at Kathula Gauspur village in Sadar tehsil under the Gangsters Act.

Investigations have revealed that Atiq had allegedly purchased the properties of 14 people, spreading over 23,447 sqm, on August 14, 2015 at a throwaway price and got them registered in the name of a mason who recently informed the police in writing that he has nothing to do with the property and that it belonged to the slain gangster.
