Lucknow: Aasim Waqar from AIMIM, arrived at the Congress office in Lucknow, seeking to meet with the Pradesh Congress Chief, Brijlal Khaabri. Aasim’s visit was triggered by the recent remarks of congress leader Kamal Nath, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, which were deemed divisive.
Aasim Waqar had intended to meet the State Congress President Brijlal Khaabri to discuss Kamal Nath’s Hindu Rashtra statement, which had sparked controversy. However, Aasim Waqar was unable to meet Brijlal Khaabri and left without meeting Congress representatives.
Waqar’s statement referenced Kamal Nath’s alleged inflammatory remarks, questioning the disparity between Rahul Gandhi’s “Mohabbat Ki Dukaan” narrative and Kamal Nath’s alleged promotion of something which is not in-sync with what Rahul Gandhi has been saying. Waqar’s remarks alluded to the contentious history between Kamal Nath and the Muslim community in Madhya Pradesh. Despite requesting time from State Congress President Brijlal Khaabri, Waqar was denied an audience. He asserted that if not granted an opportunity soon, he would consider meeting with national leaders of Congress in Delhi to address his concerns.
