Early in the morning at Lalita Ghat, a couple nearly drowned in the Ganga due to a slip on the stairs. The water police swiftly intervened, rescuing the couple and bringing them safely ashore. Aryan Jha and his wife Ranju Jha, residents of Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, were visiting Varanasi. They reached Lalita Ghat in the morning, descended the stairs, and proceeded towards the Ganga. During this time, Ranju Jha slipped, and she went into the deep water. In an attempt to save her, her husband Aryan stepped forward, and both started to drown.
