The first lunar lander from Japan has responded to a signal from Earth. This indicates its survival beyond the second lunar night of the week. Japan’s space agency, JAXA, has described this as a miracle. On January 20, Japan’s Human-Rated Smart Lander for Investigating (SLIM) had performed a soft landing on the moon.
