News Street Live, Lucknow: Yogi government has achieved another major milestone in the healthcare sector. Uttar Pradesh has secured the top position in the country in ensuring 100% delivery and implementation of benefits under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
For this achievement, the National Health Authority (NHA) honoured the state during a two-day conclave held in Pune on April 17 and 18 for outstanding execution of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
This information was shared by Health Department Secretary Ritu Maheshwari and SACHIS CEO Archana Verma. They said, “This achievement is the result of continuous efforts toward expanding and digitizing healthcare services in the state.”
ABDM facilities available in Ayushman-empanelled hospitals
SACHIS CEO Archana Verma said that currently, a total of 6,433 hospitals are empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state, including 3,521 private and 2,912 government hospitals. This reflects the strong network built to expand access to healthcare services.
Health Secretary Ritu Maheshwari added that many of these hospitals are equipped with ABDM-enabled HMIS (Hospital Management Information System), ensuring digital and transparent services for patients. Over the past year, the state has prioritized empanelment of high-quality hospitals.
The Health Secretary further stated that recently, 55 large hospitals with 100 or more beds have been added to the scheme. Their inclusion has strengthened secondary and tertiary healthcare services in the state, improving treatment for serious and complex diseases.
Yogi government has not only focused on increasing the number of hospitals but also on enhancing the quality of services. Priority has been given to specialized services such as neurosurgery, neonatal care, oncology, radiology, plastic surgery, and burn management, elevating healthcare standards in the state.
With the expansion of these services, patients who earlier had to travel to major cities or other states for treatment are now receiving care closer to home. This has especially benefited people living in rural and remote areas.
Where advanced medical facilities were once limited, improved healthcare services are now easily accessible under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This has not only increased accessibility but also reduced the financial burden of treatment on poor and vulnerable sections of society.
