Taj Mahal Flood: Due to the rains on the mountains, the water level of the rivers has increased these days in entire North India including UP and its direct effect is being seen in the plains. The water level of the Yamuna in Agra crossed the danger mark on Sunday morning, due to which for the first time in 45 years the Yamuna water has reached the Taj Mahal and the Yamuna water has filled the Mughal Gardens of the Taj Mahal. The Yamuna river is passing through the Etmadaulah monument. The administration has also come on alert mode regarding the increased water level of Yamuna.
After creating havoc in Delhi, now the water level of Yamuna in Agra Mathura has crossed the danger mark. Yamuna water is flowing up to two and a half feet above the danger mark in Agra. After 45 years, the water of Yamuna has touched the wall of Taj Mahal. At the same time, water has also been filled in the low-lying areas built around the Taj Mahal. Both the Tajganj crematorium and Poiyaghat are completely submerged. On the other hand, the danger of flood is looming large in areas like the ancient Dussehra Ghat, Etmadaulah’s Tomb, Ram Bagh, Mehtab Bagh, Johra Bagh, Kala Gumbad.Yamuna reached the wall behind Taj Mahal

ASI has done plinth protection work near Taj Mahal in Agra. This time the water of Yamuna has reached there. Water has been filled up to one to one and a half feet in the closets built on the banks of the Yamuna. ASI officer Prince Vajpayee has told that the Taj Mahal has been built in such a way that water cannot enter the main mausoleum built in the Taj even in case of heavy floods. He said that the last time the Yamuna touched the back wall of the Taj Mahal was in 1978 during heavy floods.

In view of the flood situation in Agra, the administration has also come on full alert mode. Flood outposts have been set up by the administration and people are being alerted. The administration is fully prepared to deal with any disaster situation.
